4800 OC Trouble

Thread Starter
Ive been getting help from everyone but Ive ran into a problem. I cannot keep my overclock stable even though it should be. So I'm wondering if there are any Michigan Overclockers that would be willing to do some on site help. I can't figure this and its really beginning to frustrate me. Ive tried and tried to get a stable OC, adjusting what I've been told to and what not. I have a Biostar TForce 550 SE and the AMD Anthlon 4800. I try adjusting the CPU Voltage and it wont change. I'm at my wits end with trying to overclock this. I really don't have the money to buy a new board and was under the impression from Newegg this was a good board but Ive had nothing but trouble with it.

Frustrated to no end

How high have you gotten it and how high are you trying to get? What speed is your ram?

DDR2 800 Timings of 15 5 5 25
Not sure if I wrote that right, Is the ram whats messing me up?

Ive gotten it to 3.0 using NTune but now that is locking up my systyem. If I use the lowest automated overclock it goes to 2.9, I would be happy with around 2.8. 3 being perfect

Yeah, you are not going to get much more than 3. O.K. I know a lot of people have given you advice and directions about your O.C. Well I just spent about 5 1\\2 hours toying with this board. So if you are willing to try, I will give you the whole setttings to get 3.1.

Overclock settings from the top down:

CPU voltage 1.45
1.95
1.55
1.25

FSB 259
HT multi to x3

maxmemclk change to 667mhz

Enable memtest and run for 4 min. with all timings at default.

If there are no errors boot to O.S. and run Orthos.

If memtest fails find the spot for memory adjustments and change all 4 of the 78ns to 105ns( I think it 78ns or 7?ns)

Set your timings to 5-5-5-15 and 1T

try again.

One thing about this board is you really don't need extra volts to the Htt or Chipset till you get over 300FSB.

Won't even boot. I get an error that says system is in safe mode, re-setting CPU frequency.
