Make sure you DO have XP pro on the machine you want to connect to. Home and MC don't have it. On those machines you can only connect to other machines, not vice versa.

Thanks for the help. I have it working. I can connect from my vista machine to the XP machine. I haven't tried vice versa yet. Anyway, my question now is, how do I connect when I'm not in the same network. Suppose I go to my neighbors house and want to connect? Right now, I connect using IE. I wasn't sure what to type it, the directions were a little confusing, maybe I should try to re-read it a few more times. I typed http://192.168.1.104/tsweb/ in the address bar n i got the remote desktop page. It asked for the server name and I tyed 192.168.1.104 and I connected to the computer and logged in. I'm assume I need to type the home's ip address and once im in, type the computer that I want, but that won't work, it says page cannot be found...so how would I go about connected from anywhere on the web?

I you were not in the same network & you need to connect to your home pc ,then you're pc should have a public IP address. You can use Hamachi to give your PC a free public IP address.

VEE ENNN SEEE.

I prefer it to Remote Desktop. Even though it's harder to setup it allows you to remote administrate while the other person uses it. You take control.

just go to http://whatsmyip.org

Put that IP in the remote desktop window. Make sure you have port 3389 is forwarded to your machine at home.
