First OC Celeron Conroe-L

OK, (takes deep breath) I'matotalnoobatoverclockingThefirsttimeItrieditIfr iedmysystembutI'mreadytotryagainandIreallyneedsome helpyaddayaddayadda...*GASP*

OK, now that I have the noob yakitty yak out of my system, I really do need some advice.

My system specs are shown below. Using the OC Profiles on my MoBo, I was able to OC to 2.67GHz, but I still lack a lot of knowledge I need to even ask the right questions.

I seem to be having stability problems, Overclocked or not. When I try doing a system report with Si Software Sandra Lite (Win32 x86) v2007.3.11.22, I get a BSOD. I thought it was because of my OC, so I reset it to stock settings and it still BSODed. Here is the STOP ERROR from the last one.

STOP 0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0XAE4C0709, 0XAE92EB94, 0X00000000)
Sandra.sys ADDRESS AE4C0709 BASE AT AE4BF000 DATESTAMP 45536e22

Here also are CPU-Z screen shots with the OC.

I have also BSODed a couple times playing NFS Carbon.

Let me know what info you need to help me resolve this please.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT for spelling

All my drivers ARE up to date. I installed the OS less than a week ago and updated everything. I bought the DriverGuide toolkit just to make sure I had the most up to date drivers.

BSOD is probably due to instability somewhere in the system. You may need to increase the vCore, but first run Orthos and find you temps!

EDIT: Noticed it's unstable even at stock settings... Did you do a fresh install of Windows when you build the comp? Vista or XP?

Try increasing your memory voltage a few notches, see if that's fixes the instability.

I don't think you need to increase vCore.
Check your memory first by adding +0.1v to it.

Maybe your cpu voltage. I don't know how much power the Celly Conroe's use. Let us know about your orthos.

Take a look at this thread on XS.

BTW, I should be getting my Celly 430 either monday or tuesday, so I can help you out next week if you need it.

Thats the problem with being one of the first people to get a new CPU. No one else has it. lol

Anyhow, Orthos has been running for nearly 7 hours without a hitch.

Getting ready for work now, so I'll try tweaking tonight.
