Just take the whole thing off, and get after market cooling for all the parts that had heatsink. I cut my pipe in half at first, leaving the MOSFET on and replaced the NB, now if i want to RMA, cant LoL, i might have to borrow the pipe from one of you guys!
But just so you know, those copper "looking" heatsinks on the ASUS's., are aluminium!! how i know...i tried lapping them, and to my surprise the copper paint, or coating or whatever came off!!
In the new P5K's its mentioned "copper heatsinks" on the Asus webpage now, so those are copper.
But all the rest where it dosent say anything....assume aluminium!!!
Just an FYI for all you ASUS board owners out there
