NET NEUTRALITY REMINDER! <--- Act now! - Page 5

I write and email my local senators all the time. It does nothing.

Special interest lobbying groups have bought and sold the entire federal government MANY times over.

One example of this is burned into my brain for all eternity. My mother was 12hours away from death in 1999. She had terminal cancer. Her oxygen mask was broken and she needed a replacement. The doctor was "unavailable".

Fine, I went to the nearest medical supply house and held up a piece of moulded plastic and said "I need one of these please". You know what he said? "Sorry sir, you need a prescription".

That man is lucky to be alive today. He doesn't know how close to death he came in that instant.

Regardless, to this day, I have realised that every single thing we consume from the insignificant earswabs to the ultra-significant prescription drugs and surgical equipment access has been offloaded to a middle-man. A drug dealer of sorts. Someone who you MUST give cash to to gain access. It's the exact same model the illegal drug dealers use. Coincidence? No! It's a highly profitiable mode of capitalism. Yes, the entire US government and corporate infrastructure took the worst part of the drug trade and incorporated it into the very fabric of our lives.

Fast-forward to NOW (I feel like i'm inthe freakin Matrix). The Net neutrality deal. You see...the "net" was bypassing the US sanctioned middlemen and making it possible for anyone to aquire anything at the lowest cost...INTERNATIONALLY!!!!. That, in itself, is an insane attack on the drug peddlers in Washington. You bet your butt that there will be no "neutrality" EVER if Washington has anything to do with it.

Make no mistake, this issues crosses ALL barriers. There is no innocent party out there. I'm not naming ANY names or political parties. This is a war between us, the free, and the tyrants who would tell us how to live our lives. I WISH I knew how to fight this more. I really do. I feel helpless.

We all get screwed either way, so it all comes down to who do you want to screw you? Still, if one believes in basic capitalism and in market forces, then "net neutrality" has no real purpose.

I don't get your remark. Capitalism is based upon supply and demand. What I'm saying is that this system we all love has been bypassed by the NON net neutrality plan. Are you unsure about what Net-neutrality really is?

what has our government turned into... i always have a long conversation with a friend of mine and i tell him all the time that our generation needs to step into those government positions and straiten out this country! sometimes it feels like we are just getting more and more corrupt! now i don't know much about politics, but i know when something doesn't seem right, and that time is right now!

WE NEED CHANGE!!!!

sorry if that was a lil off topic, but i just had to speak my mind...

I know that the so called net neutrality is fundamentally against my particular political inclination. Either way, it's political, so discussing it here is pointless. Everyone should keep in mind that currently there IS NO net neutrality in place and we all are doing just fine; implementing the measure will bring many side effects that I think not everyone is aware off.

I think its hillarious that the same people who say America is all about capitolism and does to much just to make a quick buck are the same people who complain and say we spend to much lol.

What's even more hilarious is that the same people complaining about censorship and banning of games are the ones favoring net neutrality (as far as this forum goes). I guess they don't realize that the same people are behind both. Who do you think will be making sure the internet stays "neutral"?
