I think out of all the consoles I've purchased in my lifetime, the DS was well worth every penny and more. I started with the original DS, and then traded it in during EB's promotion to get a discount on the DS Lite. Later, when the new colors were released, I bought a second DS Lite (black) that I barely play; it's for friends that don't have a DS and want to play multiplayer with me. The games get a little expensive after a while, especially since the DS puts out so many good games relentlessly. I'm the type that never trades in games, so it puts quite a dent in my wallet. But I can't tell you how many times I've stalked a game on ign previews til it's release, and then finally purchasing it to experience that it met all my expectations. Anyways, i'll stop ranting but the bottom line is, the DS is worth it's weight in gold if you like the games that it puts out, otherwise, pass it up because as innovative as it is, it won't keep you satisfied if there is no motivation to play it.

i have both phat and lite, and all i can say is woot!, i have 9 games and lived through the 2004-5 drout and still had fun.

If you have the chance get Elite Beat Agents, yeah it's wierd, but in one word, "addictive" also, if you like tetris, and you like ssb, you'll like meteos.

favorite games:
1: EBA
2: new SMB
3: mario kart
4: Tetris ds
5: metroid prime
6: Meteos
7: Castlevainia dawn of sorrows
