WU end date is Oct 10?

Thread Starter
I could not get the SMP client to run my CPU at more than 30%, even after a couple re-installs. Not sure the problem, so I switched to the Graphical client.

Long question short. It says my WU will end in like 104 days! Is this for real?

When your client first starts out, it does not have any history to base its calculations on, so it just defaults to that number. After a few % complete, it will correct itself.

Not at all. That is just an estimate going off of how much of the WU has been completed thus far.

I'm having this same problem and was going to make a thread.

Also my CPU is only running at 50% and RAM at 30%.

What gives? Shouldn't there be a way to make it work alittle faster when I'm not even using the system?

edit: just as we speak its down to 2 day 6 hours

Except for the SMP clients, folding is a single threaded application. On your dual core system, you'll need to either run two instances of the console (OK) or the SMP client (much better) to get the most out of your system.

If I run it twice on the same computer will they will run independently in sorting data?

I'm assuming it knows well enough to use a different port and not to get mixed up?

If you use two consoles, set them up in separate directories. Use the same folding name and team number, but use different machine IDs. That's all that's necessary to keep them separated.
