MSI P6N SLI Platinum

Thread Starter
I have the motherboard above with a E6600 and I can't seem to figure out how to overclock it higher than 2.7 ghz. Can one of you guys walk me through overclocking on this motherboard?

i assume the p6n sli platnium bios is the same as the p6n sli-fi bios,

on that board since i have it, disable the DOT technology, and the spread spectrums. keep the pci-e bus at 100. and go over to the cpu fsb part and start increasing it small increments.

say between 2-5 mhz increments, and when windows start up, test for stability using orthos or prime 95, and have cpuz installed to look at status, and remember to use intel TAT or core temp to monitor cpu temperature.

now with this board you should be able to push higher than 2.7 ghz on stock voltage. if you hit a wall upping the fsb, then go back into the bios and up the vcore (voltage a bit, a very small bit) then resume increasing the fsb as you were before, but remember to check the temperature every startup.
