Yeah, I've learned most of what I know from, Slack, Arch, FreeBSD, and Gentoo(only used twice, rather use FreeBSD than Gentoo), and from messing something up and then trying to fix it. Also learned from writing scripts, and forcing myself to use the terminal more, reading the man pages, reading books and other articles on-line.

I still keep a small partition for XP to game on only, but I boot into it maybe once or twice a month (not a big gamer any more).

Alright, i'm using UbuntuStudio... and i cant seem to get a system monitor to work, it keeps telling me i dont have X, ugh, its such a pain

lol, its not that, ignorance is a big part of this, i know X11 is installed, but it says its not

I thought that Ubuntu(regular) was better than UbuntuStudio. That just my own opinion. Seemed that by default it was able to install more packages, and UbuntuStudio kept asking to put in the cds to install anything. I don't know, that was from the week it was released, they may have changed things around with updates since then.

Which system monitor are you messing with? The one that is part of gnome panel?
