In about 8 hours I get paid, and I'm thinking about getting this:

Newegg.com 8800GTS 320MB KO $314.99

Opinions?

Why are you upgrading? That 7600GT still has some life in it yet. Keep it for another year or so till DX10 becomes mainstream in games, THEN buy a descent DX10 card.

I agree with Cyph3r, wait and get something better. Unless I read it wrong the next generation Nvidia part is coming soon, and will be (according to Nvidia) 3x faster than the 8800 GTX.

http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=39829

Also, you cannot touch DirectX 10 unless you have Vista, so unless you plan to upgrade to Vista don't worry about it.

Not only that, but look at how much directx 10 brings down even a mighty 8800GTX in SLI.

The GTS 320 is an excellent card, but the KO version is not worth the extra cost. Buy the base model and overclock it yourself; you'll see better clocks than the KO version and have more fun doing it yourself.

Good luck.

I'm with you.

All the DX10 cards out are crap. SLI GTX can barely run the DX10 demos. The DX10 cards are just a kick-ass DX9 card IMHO.

Just save your money, keep your 7600GT and wait until DX10 matures. It's a big waste of money and I do regret getting my GTS 640MB. Should have went for the 1950XT or something.

Meh, I have no regrets about my 320. The improvement I have seen in Oblivion makes the upgrade worth it for me.
