Thank you chip

I do agree though - that a company of Intel's caliBUR shouldnt let this happen.
They're no new kids to the block, and THOUGH no product is perfect.
The flaws shouldnt be related to code! esp NOT by the people who pioneered the x86 platform!

I mean, one can see with a DAM HOT chip, or a unstable-when-I-get-too-hot one, an expensive one, or a less than bleeding edge fast one..

But the CORE device in a computer, which handles all code, and even helps programs to determine errors in code () shouldnt be buggy in that regard at all!

(PS - if this was AMD's shat, I"d be angry! )

All that aside.
the issue certainly isnt affecting the average user - so no one shouldnt be too hard on it really..

***? It's not like there is even a legitimate threat posed because of these "bugs". "Oh no, someone is gonna hack into my CPU!" - bull crap. I have not known A SINGLE PERSON that owns a C2D complain about it one bit for any reason besides bad stepping for OC'ing. Nothing is wrong with these chips, at least nothing anybody cares about besides critics.

Why does everybody hate Intel? Because their fantastic marketing team could still push Pentium even when Athlon was beating it? Or because they're pounding poor AMD now that they have the upper hand? So what, Intel is producing right now while AMD has nothing to show for 8 years of relaxation. Get off your moral high-horse fanboys, tell me you wouldn't do the same in their position. Buy the best when you're out to buy, whether it's Intel, AMD, or whoever else...simple as that.

EDIT: Notice in the last sentence, I say flat out BUY what is BEST. I despise fanboyism from either party, so don't jump in my stuff.

They are just trying to bring Intel down. They have been having so much success, somebody feels like they have to try and put a black cloud over Intel for a minor bug that really does not affect anything.

I think it is mostly because the AMD users want revenge for years of AMD being above Intel and not trying to destroy them then Intel turning around and stabbing AMD in the back despite AMD's kindness.

AMD didn't not try to destroy Intel, they just didn't have the manpower. Intel has always had ups on AMD with marketing influence, you NEVER see Athlon commercials, you ALWAYS see Pentium/C2D commercials (just an example).

And Intel isn't trying to crush AMD, they're just running with their new found excellence. They took a beating on Pentium being crap for sooo many years and they finally pulled off something special. To be honest, AMD should have done what Intel is doing now and taken advantage of having the performance crown when they had it to move onward instead of waiting around raking it in.

I feel for AMD, they are under a HUGE amount of pressure, but at the same time, Intel will NOT smother them out. The bigwigs at Intel know better than to obliterate competition, do you think none of them know that monopoly is illegal? I'm excited for Barcelona, I really can't wait to see what it can prove, because it really has a LOT riding on it's shoulders right now.

EDIT: BTW Licht, Bel Air, California or Bel Air, Maryland?

Lol which one was in the show?

On another note they are already in trouble with the antitrust committee AMD is throwing their best talkers into that room to try and get Intel in trouble. But how would they punish Intel? Anyone know the punishment or violation antitrust laws?
