Insofar as Folding: For those that have lost loved ones to cancer, the debate may not be so...well... debatable.

Yeah, um, everytime you turn off and on a pc, it shortens the psu's life, and also takes quite a bit of juice to start. And why would I want to wait for my pc to boot up? Leaving it on idle and in power saving mode seems like a damn good solution.

Think about it!
Did you actually just imply that carbon dioxide emissions cause lung and skin cancer...? :***:

Remember kids, "Arguing on the internet is like running a race in the Special Olympics." Just let it go. No one is going to accept the point of the other side in this. Too much pride.

When you doing the Fold for the cure thing, people would still have to pay for the cure if they happens to get cancer, and most of the time curing cancer is temporary and not permanently. So in conclusion, if folding causes other cancer and waste money and such, I think I will stop folding, thank-you.

I only turn off my PC when I go to bed. Well, I guess I also turn it off if I'm going to be gone for long periods of time like 5-6 hours. Other than that it stays on.

Gah I was about to post there.

There is a huge misconception that CO2 does a lot of things it doesn't. CO2 TRAPS HEAT IN THE ATMOSPHERE AND LOWERS THE pH OF OUR WATERWAYS/OCEANS. It doesn't cause cancer. It doesn't destroy the ozone.

The ozone layer is destroyed by things like chloroflorocarbons CFCs and other things that are easily broken in radicals in the upper atmosphere by high frequency radiation from the sun.
