sound card/headphones recommendations please.

this is simple. recommend me a soundcard and headset while keeping the price as low as possible. im not an audiophile. ive been brought up on OB sound with cheapo speakers.
im looking into X-Fi's, especially since they now work under vista. and ive been hearing good things about the sennheisers. but only the more expensive models have been mentioned. dont really want to spend more than €30 on those.
the soundcard is rather to take some workload off of the CPU, rather than providing awesome sound. so if it could stay around, say... €60-80?

one more thing: i prefer this site for ordering:
(might make it less easy for the non-dutch-speakers among us, but should be doable)

I don't know if this link will work but here's what I would suggest for the X-fi http://www.zercom.nl/

I know the Pro is a little more expensive..

I'm actually looking for a pair of headphones also...

I just don't know that much about-em

And the XtremeGamer, an awesome card I'm sure and it's more for the budget.http://www.soundblaster.com/products...&product=15853

in that case i'll go with the xtreme gamer. the pro is about twice that, while i doubt it will give twice the performance. (is "performance" even applicable to soundcards? lol)

anyway, now i'd just need some headphones, preferrably a headset though.

I'd go for an ExtremMusic if you can find one. they were discontinued, but is a full sized card with normal components.

You only need the upgraded cards if you want the front bay or the big I/O deal that comes with the Elite pro.

Do not get the xtremeaudio.

All the rest (except for the elite pro, which has better sQ) are the same in terms of SQ. they have the same analogue output and DACs. They all have the same X-Fi chip. The only difference is the amount of X-RAM and accessories.

X-RAM is used in some games, but the game has to be specifically coded to use it, so don't spend money for more as there have only been a couple games to use it.

Don't get a logitech headset. if you want cheap look into Senn's PC series
