OverClock Help!

Thread Starter
I'm really new to over clocking. But I'm no noob to computers. Just never got into OC. I want to..... Just wondering where the best place to start is.... OCing the RAM? The Vid card? or the chip.

Any good links around, up to date bla bal ba.

Also I ave the ASUS P5ND2-SLi Bord, It comes with the AI Booster. preset over clocks at 103%, 105%, and so on. Is this tool any good, Or should I smash it with a hammer?

Ill be back with some more detailed system specs. hopefully someone will be interested enough to help a poor man.... and poor I am

OK . Heres My Bios settings.

I think they are all set to defaults.

-Bios version 0606
-Jumper free config.
- OC profile manual
- Frequence control PCI-E 100MHz
- sys. clock mode auto, FSB 533.3MHz
-MEM speed, 666.7MHz

- Spread Spectrum.
- CPU - Center Spread
- PCI-E - Down Spectrum
-LDT - Center Spectrum

-Volt Control (AUTO)
- DRAM Auto
- Chipset +1.4V
- SouthBridge +1.5
- CPU Thermilation 1.25
-Vcore over volt disabled
- Vcore 1.3500V

Peg Link Mode auto
Peg root auto
peg buffer auto

Cpu Config
P4
3.06 GHz
ram cash 1024k
CPU internal thermal control auto
TMZ 14x
TMZ bus vid 0.8375v

-Limit CUPID disabled
Execute disable bit enabled

-Chipset LDT freq. 4x

- MEM timing auto

IDE Function all enabled

-NV Raid, all disabled.

The rest is straightforward and I understand. I understand most of this too I just have no idea, whats safe whats not, and so on.... What I really have no idea about is the spread spectrum.

Ram Type= Geil Value I think, I know its Geil. 667 ddr2
Frequency= 333.4 MHz
FSBram= 4:10
CAS# LAt= 5.0 Clocks
RAS:CAS Delay= 4clocks
RAS Percentage= 4Clocks
Cycle Time 14 Clocks
bank Cycle 19 clocks

Cooling= NONE LOL
I have a 120mm, 60 on the side, stock heat sink from the chips other computer, A HP (HEAP of POOP) a1020n.

The computers cpu temp is 43-46C. Doing what im doing now plus msn and all that crap.

The system Temp is 34C

Thats all for now. Any Suggestions?
Ill Post the Vid card in a few.
Also any suggestions on Cheap new cooling for this board

You will need CPUZ, speedfan and Orthos. Orthos is for stress tersting your OC settings while sppedfan can be used to monitor temps and voltage. CPUZ just verifies your CPU frequency and memory timings.

Here is a link to Intel that shows the Temp ranges for their 775 P4s. Just scroll down to the chart.
Intel

For the Video card, download AtiTool. It has a feature that lests you test for max overclock.
