New system, good overclocks?

Thread Starter
Well, I finally got the money to buy the rig that Ninja_Boy basically chose for me, (That's a good thing) and I have to say, it's freaking sweet. I have nearly a 1 GHz overclock on the CPU, the graphics card overclocked nicely, and everything is just going smoothly. Looking online, though, I see that some people have gotten their E6320s up around 3.3 GHz? So, because I like lists, here is a list of my questions:
1. Are they getting it that high because they're using a 7x multiplier? (Yeah, stupid question, but I like to be 110% sure)
2. Why does XP show my CPU speed as it would be if I was using a 7x multiplier, and not what it really is? (In the WinKey+Break window)
3. Is there any reason in particular why cpuz shows a different CPU voltage than BIOS?
4. (Relating to the last question) Which one is correct?
5. Are the overclocked speeds that I have right now pretty good for my hardware?
</list>

There ya go, a list of wonderfully nooby questions that I only now realize have barely any relevance to the title... sorry about that.
Thanks for bearing with me, everyone.

1. Ask them
2. Perhaps you have SpeedStep/Thermal Throttling/C1E/EIST enabled in the BIOS still and it clocks it down when you're below like 80% load.
3. Yes vdroop or just the voltage not being reported correctly or the above mentioned options are dropping your voltage to save power. Also what power supply do you have?
4. Go with what the BIOS says it is.
5. I dunno is it fast enough for you? I had mine at 3.5Ghz for a long time but I'm totally happy with 3.15Ghz, when it gets really hot around here I run at 2.8Ghz and don't mind it too much either really.

2. It's detected correctly in CPU-Z, and at the same time incorrectly in the System Properties window.
3. I don't remember the brand/model, but it's somewhere around 450 watts.
5. I want to get it as fast as possible

Also, just one more question. Do you think I should change my multiplier to 7?
I changed it to 6 on the advice of someone else, but if it gets me a higher clock, shouldn't I put it to 7?

Use 7. I've never noticed any difference between 2Ghz @ 6 and 2Ghz @ 7. The only difference is you'll have to set the FSB higher to achieve the same clocks, putting more stress on the RAM.

You should be able to push it to 3Ghz with that G Skill.
