OK...new problem! I got it to run like how I want but it still gives me the random restarts! Anyone know what is causing this? Can it be my psu going bad?

Random restarts is a very vague explanation for any number of possibilities. Does it happen with a particular program? Or after a certain length of time?

lower multi, 2t timings, reasonable ram timings, raise sb and nb voltage, ease up the vcore, disable all unused features in bios, uhh thats all i can think of at the moment. hope that helps!

Hi shifty,

If you are running Core Temp .95 that might be causing the restart problem. It caused random restarts on my e6240/P5N-E SLI (650i chipset) really giving me a fit. :swearing:

I switched to verson .94 (still available on the author's website) and the problem went away.

Best of luck,

Elwood

My VTT is set to 1.55v but I think my problem is my ram! At 800mhz even at loosened timings it fails memtest...I set my speed down from 800mhz to 667mhz at it runs orthos error free for 10 hours now! Do you think my ram isn't very compatible with this board?

there you go then... if memtest is failing then you know you have to fix a RAM issue... but start off with the timings all set to auto... and make sure and give the sticks the maximum value in the G. Skill HK specifications... also mane sure you have the speed set to auto (I think that is an option)...

Then if it still fails MemTest then you have to RMA those sticks... but ask other more senior members before going through the trouble of the RMA.

Consider the HZ's if you can, they are a very good deal and they are currently being used by countless OCN members with great OC results

Your memory may be failing for lack of adequate voltage. I think those sticks are supposed to run at 2 to 2.1v. Your board probably defaults to something less than that on auto. Try manually setting the ram voltage to 2.1v and retesting your ram again at 800mhz before you RMA it. You can do a fast test with memtest86.

If it completes one full pass without errors (takes about 30 min), then you can try Orthos.
