don't get an Asus P5W (975 Express chipset) if you're using an nVidia g-card. that is an (expensive) CrossFire motherboard. if you want the possibility to run SLI in the future, get a 680i motherboard. if you don't care about SLI, save your money and get a P965 chipset motherboard like the Asus P5B.

Good point. Forgot to mention that earlier, sorry. If you are thinking of SLI as a future possibility, I'd go with an Asus P5N32-E SLI or EVGA/XFX 680i motherboard. Both good overclockers and SLI ready with full bandwidth 16x / 16x PCI-E slots.

If you want a board that is upgradeable and will support Intel's next CPU core named Penryn, go for a motherboard based on the NVIDIA 600 series or an Intel P35/38 chipset. They are the chipsets as of now that are guaranteed to support them.

Yeah, I don't know how any one person could use an entire Terabyte of data storage.

A friend of mine, JustAnEngineer, said
you won't see much difference between 320MB vs. 640MB. The GeForce 8800GTS 320MB really only falls down at extremely high resolutions like 2560x1600. And this card with the 588 Mhz core clock and 1840 MHz (effective) memory Clock should give me better performance than the only 640MB card for under $400 which has a 500 Mhz core clock and 1600 MHz (effective) memory Clock

I have other plans for all that ram

Ya, lots On my 80GB, I was constantly deleteing things to make room, my 120GB is full, and the 250GB is over half full. Music, movies, games, etc.

Good! Then I won't need to worry about running out, will I? (wanna bet?)

If my MoBo had AC97, then without question I would get one. But it has HD audio. If that ain't good enough, then I'll worry about blowing another $100 on a good audio card. No, not an X-Fi. Creative cards do not support Dolby or DTS. I'm thinking along the lines of a bluegears b-Enspirer 7.1
I did a little research and found that the bluegears b-Enspirer is a way better choice than the X-Fi Xtreme Gamer for my needs. The X-Fi has EAX 1-5, no DTS and no Dolby. In addition, a lot of people (look at the reviews on newegg.com) have some serious problems with it--pop and hiss, BSODs, and no Vista drivers so far.

The Bluegears on the other hand has EAX 1-2, DTX, and Dolby.

As for all of you who say to get a different MoBo...

I have no interest in SLI or Crossfire. I bought this MoBo for the other features on it. There is, however, a possibility that sometime in the future, I might want to add one or even two more monitors, in which case that other slot will come in handy. It won't matter if the 2nd slot only runs at 4x, it would be used for web sites, documents, maintence programs, and other things I want to keep an eye on with it out of the way. I multitask a lot.

Thanks you all for your feedback

One possible change I am considering though is getting a Core 2 Quad Q6600 instead of the E6600. Thoughts?

Shoot man, I didn't mean to come across like that. I sincerely apologize if I did. I was trying to be funny, and I guess I overstepped the bounds. I probably wasn't thinking too straight at the time either because I was short on sleep. Forgot that I'm new here and you guys don't know me.

I would have replied sooner, But I just recently found the MMORPG 9 Dragons, and that game is awesome.

I'm not asking you to simply take me at my word. All I ask is that you give me a chance to prove myself. Sound fair?
