If this is a gaming system for get about GTS anything. Send that 2GB of RAM back and invest in the GTX. The extra 2GB will not give as much of a performance gain in games as the GTX will.

As for the PSU consider a SilverStone OP650. It's been so nice compared to the last two Thermaltake PSU's I've had. But meh the 750W may be totally different from the 400W and 500W's

I personally hate how the dragon looks. I did not deduct any points for taste.

2gb of memory, is still fairly pointless for a gamer.
Hardly..you just arent playing the games that use it! 4gb's for a gamer...yes excessive, I'd say.

As a few others posted:

P5k over the current mobo..[its only 140$ on the egg now]Also, hitting 600+FSB...no other chipset is doing that!

2gb ballistics are currently the cheapest RAM I have found at 71$ after rebate...and still on par with the G.Skill HZ's

*At the end of the month, a e6750 will be cheaper than a e6600..the e6850 @ 3ghz, not too far away from there also..just other options.

I'll admit that my knowledge of video cards is not strong, so please explain to me if my reasoning is wrong and how.

I'm getting 2 monitors, a 20" 1400 x 1050 and a 22" 1680 x 1050 wide screen. 1400 x 1470000 pixels and 1680 x 1050 = 1764000 pixels for a total of 3234000. The 320 supports up to 2560 x 1600 or 4096000 pixels.

So I'm thinking I can save money and still get good performance by going with less memory and faster clocks. Also, when I run full screen games, I usually disable my 2nd monitor anyway. If I'm not mistaken, the 320 shouldn't even break a sweat running my 1680 x 1050 wide screen at full blast.

Now as to why I want 4 GB RAM, I plan to use a ram disk program from Farstone which will give a huge boost to a lot of games I like. Anyone ever use it or something similar?

Then if i were you, i would go for the best CPU i could afford, as that RAMdisk, will limit your OC. Using mem as a virtual HDD, is good...but not when you are relying on your RAM to OC you cpu. Corrupted data really sucks.

Have you experience using this program on a OC'd rig before?

I checked reviews on a lot of RAM before choosing GeIL. It seems to offer the most bang for the buck on performance vs. price. Several ppl claim 1100 MHz OC on the 800 MHz chips.

I am thinking of switching to the Q-6600 on my CPU. Is it really worth it?

Got to go to work now. I'll be back tonight.

That is not un-common for D9 IC's..Crucial ballistics are going for around 71$ on the egg now after rebate for a 2gb kit. They feature the same D9 IC's...very good quality.
