SIGNS OF A PROBLEM!? Mouse cuts out: P5N32-e

Hi, I just built a new computer within the month.

The past couple days while playing 2 different games, the mouse stops responding. I alt-tab out acouple times. No mouse in the game or on the desktop. Then, suddenly... it just begins to work again.

Then it happened again today, but just on the desktop. Not sure what to do, I plugged it into a different USB port. Vuala! It worked again. At first I thought it was just some **** with the game, but its happened a few times and I'm thinking it may be a sign of an underlying problem.

What do you guys think?!

Does plugging the mouse out and in fix it temporarily?

This has recently happened to me with my mouse.. my dad and the company we sent it to repair to claimed it was the mouse ****ing up, but I highly doubt it because I tried another (wireless) mouse and the same thing happened after a while.
The comp would occasionally not power up at all, so my dad thought there was something wrong with the mobo but I said it was the PSU (if it was the mobo, it would power up but nothing would happen afterwards, right?)

After the comp came back from that company, it worked perfectly.
They said the comp wouldn't go on so they checked it out and there was a loose cable somewhere.. they didn't say exactly what it was, but I'm guessing it was something between the PSU and the mobo.. the mobo didn't get enough power so the mouse died.

My dad sat there for 30 min moving the mouse around and it worked fine.. and yet, he still insists it's the motherboard =p

Try a different mouse and if that doesn't work, have a look inside your PC, making sure everything is properly connected.

I think its more like it disassociates the mouse with the app that I have up. Or maybe it cuts out and rediscovers the mouse?

It cut out again playing Civilization 4 and I was stuck scrolling to the side. X-(

I think this might be connected to NVIDIA's NTUNE monitoring program.

Same thing happened again during a game and when I alt-tabbed out, there was a blank error message generated by NTUNE...

Need to test the idea to find be sure though.
