Completely agreed - but with the prices as they are, there are much better for cheaper. Maybe he only had enough for the 6200, or only had the need for that much power.
To clarify, wasn't saying it wasn't a good step up, was just wondering why not a bit more.

well, it was 70 at the time, and I didn't think it would improve my comp. much, but it did free up my system ram some, which is what im looking for next. one step at a time i guess, basically. Good point all the same.

Just save up about 1500 and the folk here at OCN can put you a system.. Even if you have like 600-700 I have a rig list for less than 700 shipped that has speakers, mouse, mobo everything other than a video card and is amazing

Once you have enough $$ start a new thread and we will help.

Welcome! I recently joined as well. If you do plan on buying a new system, $1500 is almost exactly what I paid for the system in my sig($1512). Just to give you an idea on how much $1500 will get you.

hey man, hows it going, you should look into a 7600gt or something, they are pretty cheap, and with your setup, you will be able to play most games, think about another gig of ram as well, both of these swill run you about $100 each, and you will absolutely see the difference

I didn't think its a good idea to mix and match ram, seeing as I have and its pretty crappy, not to mention 2x512 with 1x1GB. can you even do that? anyway I meant like a 2GB kit, but I guess I didn't clarify that well

Good question, can anyone confirm that I can put a Gig of ddr2 800 in his HP with his current Ram>?

We live across the street from each other

Also he is very thick headed, that's why he has the 6200Le. He got it at Best-buy and got ripped off (He didn't want my 6600 or to order off the Egg)
