I swear every time I see you post in these types of threads you're insulting people....so here's the deal.

When the 2900XT came out, it had some really performance. But one thing stuck out in my mind; it raped the 3dmark benches, but it lacked in gaming performance. Now, tell me, why would it beat out the 8800GTS in benchmarks, but at the same time suck hardcore in the realtime gaming department against the same card, when specwise it should tear the 8800s a new one? Simple: DRIVERS. Drivers are what make the optimizations for the individual games, with crummy drivers you get crummy performance. Add that into the really off the wall benchmarks that people got in different reviews, and you get a card which you really can't make out whether it's good, or bad.

Now, 2 driver releases later, and things are starting to even out....it went from worse than a 8800GTS, to about the same, and it should go up even more, eventually settling between the 8800GTX and the 8800GTS.

Honestly I stopped caring between 70fps and 106 because it doesn't matter to me.

I am on a monitor with a max res of 1024 x 1280 or whatever it is and my experience in games are amazing.

OC'd I can play any game at max or at a setting that cannot be told apart from a max. My 320GTS was a bit expensive but that is because I bought it in Q1 07..

Now if I had to do it again I would go for this card over anything if you have a smaller monitor.

If you play at res's like 1920 x 1080 or something then get the XT but if you are someplace in between the 640mb card is fine.

If you REALLY just want to have the best of the best and play on basically and res, and settings the GTX is your card. Otherwise /end.

It was a response to someone with no intelligible data and used terms like "ePenis" in a demeaning manner towards me. I was simply reporting what the facts showed. Sure, it may be drivers.... and it probably is. I'm not arguing this. I'm just posting what we know, based on real tests. Speculation is fine, but making speculation fact is not. Driver improvements have obviously helped thus far with the 2900XT. Wow. Great. We all know this. But my previous posts explain exactly what I was trying to say about the two cards. No more, no less.

And somehow you are going to base the HD2900XT's future upon former incidences from different cards? You cannot tell the future. And trying to based on the history of something else makes you look even for foolish.
History has a way of repeating itself. Those who don't learn from it are doomed to repeat it, it's said. Already the HD 2900 series is shaping up to do exactly what I stated.

Oh, and if you're going to attempt to call someone foolish, please do so using proper grammar.

I already edited it more than 10 minutes ago, before the "edit" line came up on the bottom. Reread it yourself. It's called a typo.

Sure, history has a way of repeating itself. But we won't know for sure until it actually happens. Even you can agree with this, right?

Won't the price be made up in electricity bills compared to 8800GTSs anyway? lol

My 'intelligible data' is pretty much common knowledge to anyone who has been on OCN longer than 2 months...

And sorry if your panties got in a bunch over my observation, but as was stated by Ch13f121, you have a tendency to attack others and whine when people don't agree with you. If you don't like being on the receiving end of such comments in the future, you may want to think about what you post toward others in the future.

If I remember correctly 1 XT draws more than a GTX

Uh something like that... It was a lot.. I'll try to find it.

I seriously just think it's sad when people can't understand the difference between fact and speculation - and continue to bring in private parts/undergarments when they can't win using this basic idea. Grow up and learn the difference. I'm done arguing with you until you understand this.
