Has anyone overclock with DDR400 Kingston Value RAM?

Hi

I have Kingston ddr400 Valuram (3-3-3-8). I am wondering if its a decent overclocking RAM and if anyone has expierence/has used it. My mobo doesn't allow me to change the timings/voltage (highe then stock). I am looking for expierence with this series and or someone who knows the avarge of ram and overclocking.

It has no heatspreader

Despite being generic RAM it should cope with an extra 80Mhz (40Mhz x 2 DDR) or so before causeing errors. Simply raise you RAM ratio and then test with memtest86+ to ensure stability. You may also want to try lowering your CL rateing to 2.5.

Have you ever used it?

It isn't the greatest ram. Should oc a little but I woulden't expect much.

You could just run a divider, thereby lowering the speed at which your ram starts clocking up from. It should be called memory clock index or ram divider. It should say a speed.

it'll probably do a good 20Mhz...

Just use memtest and gradually take it up until it fails...best way to find out.

my samsung value ram will go to 430mhz max, not that i use the overhead.

estimates of between 20-40 seem reasonable, but as someone pointed out, you'd be better off using the 333 divider and raising fsb that way.
