I haven't seen any of this so-called talking down to XP users

Windows is far from perfect in all of its incarnations...but the newest version is always going to have "significant" issues, its simple math. All of the programmes, coders and beta testers combined only equal a fraction of the actual end-users and possible applications for the OS. No matter how much testing is done and retesting...and retesting...once it is out in the wild it is bound to experience problems that no one previously thought of.

I just think that we should rather than bash any OS, or users for choosing one...we work to more objectively evaluate and suggest improvements for the end-user experience [/gets down off of soap box]

Most people are ignorant of what Vista can do. Those who bash it cite driver issues, poor compatibility and the like when those issues are few and far between. Quite frankly I've had more issues on XP than i've had on Vista. Because when it comes right down to it, I can find thousands more posts like the one you linked on XP than Vista.

Anyone that's actually used Vista, unlike yourself, love it and have nothing bad to say at all. So when you think people are "talking down to you", we're just saying that you should probably try it out before you write it off.

Never thought I'd say this, but I agree with your post Mike. First time we agree, in fact!

Yeah and it had a lot of good tips for the games too It was like 15 pages long, IMO they should have just corrected the subject title to conform since it was such a popular thread, but oh well.
