For about a 15-18% increase in performance if I recall correctly

the actual dual channel technology is worth maybe 5fps, so no. I can post proof if anyone wants it.

But obviously 2GB is worth it, you need almost exactly or more to avoid bottlenecks on current games, 1.5 will bottleneck quite a bit.

As far as the "newegg" links go, doubt there much good to you other than referance, being I do not believe they ship to the Bahamas.
u've found my biggest problem. stuff here is too expensive. i have someone who can get what i need.( everything in my sig besides the case and video card was bought abroad.) but even that gets pricey.

Right now i've got 512 of 533mhz memory and when i go to get more ram i wanna have atleast 1.5gigs in total.
is dual channel worth me getting rid of current memory and getting a gig or 2 of D.C. ddr2 sticks?
I wondered the same thing.. but luckily my mobo has the ability to use my ram and single or dual channel so i put it in single 1024 mb of ram btw and it ran fast of course, and i tested it on a few things like how fast certian programs loaded.. then i put it in dual channel.. and it did make a good speed boost.. maybe not like a huge chuck of a difference but i could definitely tell that dual channel is better.

Because that statement is too generic. It "worth maybe 5fps"... on what game, system, setting, and resolution?

Like The Duke said, I heard there is a 10-20% memory bandwidth gain in benchmarks. Real world performance gain varies by application.

Run some memory benchmarks apps like SANDRA or Everest.

My mobo supports 800mhz memory max. If i got memory with higher speeds would it step down? and would you suggest it? Am thinking that it having higher speeds may help in my overclocking adventures lol.

Yes, I have the same board and it's just not possible to OC past dd2 800.

Maybe in the future?
