Same machine, dual boot, diferent temperatures

Thread Starter
Hi guys, excellent forum.

I have dual boot: Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista Ultimate 64. In Vista, my core temperature readings (measured by Speed Fan, Everest and Core Temperature) are 2 °C lower than those in XP. All settings in both OS are the same. Any thoughts?

nah, you can trust coretemp. nothing wrong with it.
obviously, BIOS measurements are best, but you cant load while in BIOS. (would be quite pointless anyway)

It could be. Differences are in idle temperatures only, load temperatures are pretty the same. Thank you for fast replay.
