Deciding on a future CPU

Thread Starter
Probably near the end of this year i will be building my very first PC. I know that intel is making price cuts and releasing the new 45nm CPUs. What would be better to get, Q6600 after price cuts or the new E6850/6750. (i think thats the name). Thanks

Wait until the end of the year to consider. Everything will have changed, including prices

Q6600 [G0 revision]...lower power consumption means they should be outstanding OC'rs. Not to mention around 3-400$ after the end of this month. Not even the e6850 will be able to keep up with the Q6600..since they are of the same structure, you can compare those cpu's clock/clock...even if they were both at 3ghz..the Q6600 still has 2 more cores.

It hard to say atm what will be good by the end of the year, in todays market the e6000 series has the best bang to buck ratio, but by the time your building, the Q series will most likely have taken that spot with the price cuts
