Info: Deathadder USB Device Not Recognised - Page 3

just hapenned to me, bought it about 5 days ago, i can't remember exactly what i was doing, but i think was changing settings in the control panel, then the mouse never worked again. i've the receipt and i'll go to the store to change it, very good mouse but i see in this post that many users have the same problem, that's a shame.

Why is it that the best sensor happens to be in a mouse from razer? 4 meters per second perfect tracking with no mouse correction is pretty awesome, unlike razer's quality control and terrible customer service. Mine scraped up a storm on my pad (right out of the box) the underbelly is convex so I had to mod it just to get it working as it should. I can't wait till other manufacturers come out with good sensors that track ludicrous speeds so we can stop buying garbage.

To give you an idea of razer customer service vs logitech:

Razer: the guy sugested me to buy aftermarket mouse feet from razer to correct the problem rather than RMA a mouse that is geometrically incorrect.

Logitech: I told them the G9 laser mouse had negative acceleration (it worked fine but that laser sensor skips when you move faster tham 1m/s) and they sent me a MX518 FREE no questions asked I didnt even have to ship them the G9, I scored 2 mouses for the price of one.

With that said however, the sensor in my Deathadder is flawless, I can't make it skip on a 17 inch QCK cloth mousepad even if I try.

I ask the same question.

Good news: Avago just released it's ADNS-3090 for the open market.

From the looks of it, it may share the same perfect control speeds.. I just hope they don't include mouse correction/prediction on the stock firmware.

That's good news, i'm looking forward to seeing some releases with that sensor. Good info +rep

this happened to my mouse... had it for 3 weeks... finally decided to install the razer drivers off the website... and blam... not working... device not recognised... balllllllls..

Will be taking it back for replacement. I've had my deathadder for 5 years and never had a single problem with it... it seems standards have gone down...

This thread was opened in 2007 and is more than three years old, however the problem continues. There would have been multiple driver and firmware updates in these three years - the question is - does any of that address the problem? NO!

I bought my DA 3500 a month back and it worked fine for 3 weeks. Suddenly one afternoon, the computer fails to boot up, the light on the logo is gone and the same 'USB not recognized' message once the PC boots up somehow.

I am wondering why have the Razer engineers not fixed this.

I have to add though that the Razer service was really friendly. They issued an RMA an I got a brand new mouse within a week.

im thinking it hasnt happened enough to justify going back to the table to re engineer a better way to implement the memory. its much cheaper to replace a few mouse that exhibit this than to spend $$$ on R&D to fix it.

you would think while "re-engineering" the deathadder they would have fixed this problem. Now I hope my deathadder that comes in on monday-tuesday (with the rest of my computer parts) doesn't exhibit these problems.

I'm from Belgium, just registered here.
I had this issue today, just like that, stopped working .. I was doing nothing but playing World of Warcraft...

This company really makes me sick. First off, the mice are way overpriced. Secondly, I had a lot of trouble with the precision of my deathadder. I was STUNNED to see that this expensive mouse starts shaking the pointer around and is in fact less precise than my logitech mouse I got for free (worth 10$) with my new PC.

When I got the deathadder, it took my weeks to get used to its shape, and when I finally think it feels comfortable, it just stops working.

I tried playing with drivers and settings ... nothing, it's just DEAD.
At first I thought I needed to reboot my PC, but then something started to smell funny. I took the USB cable out and it felt hot !! This is the worst ! What if something happened to my PC or it started a fire ?

I take care of my equipment like they are my babies, so I'm really baffled at this.

I hope I get a new one, but I know for sure my next mouse will not be a Razer. We don't need frigging awesome booklets and a plastic case, no, we need a mouse that doesn't stop working after a few weeks.

Thanks for reading my very useful rant.
