Using Two Wireless Routers to spread a network?

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

My Brother has a PC in the basement connected via WiFi, the problem is my wireless router is two floors up on the other side of the house, so he is often disconnected.

Now, I'm trying to connect both a Dlink WBR-2310 and a DI-524 via a 50ft. Ethernet cable to possibly solve this.

The WBR-2310 is in my room, and the ethernet cable is traveling downstairs through a wall. I've connected the cable to the DI-524 on the first port on the router (not the uplink port).

I've also disabled DHCP, but still no luck connecting to the internet.

Any ideas?

Cheers

if you name the wireless networks the same thing from both routers then it might work. connect the 50ft running from the router connected to your internet connection (WBR-2310) to the uplink on the next router down the line (DI-524). That should give the DI-524 connectivity. Set up the wireless on that router so your brother can connect.
