Packing for RMA

Thread Starter
Whats the best/easiest way to package my 8800gtx for RMA? I've got all the original packing. Should I place the card back into the original foam packing and place the foam packing into a cardboard box surrounded by foam pellets?

Any comments or suggestions would be great

You basically stated it yourself, lol. Yes, the original packaging will be more than efficient. When I sent out my HD I just took regular lined paper and balled it up creating a nice packaging.

You have a EVGA.. Pay 15$ for crossship and prepaid label, and then ship it in the box they ship you. Pays for shipping and you get a box to ship it in.

It cost a good 10$ to ship the card anyway, and for $5 no downtime is totally worth it.

In an envelope. Or better yet, attach a post-card on the side of it and mail it that way. Jk, of course.

From what you say, sounds like you have it covered. Original packaging, in a box full of peanuts. Box in a box.

OR, if you like the packaging(gfx card box, they won't hold it against you) keep it all, except the card and another box, and send the card in foam/peanuts. make sure there's enough to keep it from moving around.

Packaging is so cool

Just take the original box to the ups store or fedex if thats your thing , If its broken already then don't take more money out of your pocket to ship it. If you got it from newegg , buy and print out the ups shipping its at a reduced price .

Thanks for the replies. I'll go ahead and cancel the standard RMA and start the advanced RMA. I suppose all my problems are solved for a mere $5

EDIT: It's not broken. I just get MAD artifacts in many of my games. In addition to this the card always crashes at 72 degrees C. The problems just started occurring. I bought the card 6 months ago so newegg is out of the question.
