I have to agree with Tyr...

My corp in LFC is very close, almost like a (disfunctional) family

Every year CCP hold a fanfest, and lots of my corp mates go and all meet up

Most years there is a "Beer and Gank", lots of EVE players meet up and get drunk... My corp nearly always has the biggest turnout! They pwned everyone else this year with the most people... I hope to go next year

Every year one of the guys holds a corp BBQ at his house... Was invited to this but unable to go

Hope to go next year!!

But yeah, when you play online with people for a few years, you get to know them very well!

That sounds fun, I'd love to go to a fanfest, but alas I live in the US and I'm broke. lol

And I think there's like 4-5 Eve players on these forums. Probably more that haven't posted about it yet, anyway.

Well, I took the plunge

Found a pretty small corp to get me on my feet, and get them wet at the same time.

If only I could handle the 20 messages through EVEmail that I got within 1hr of joining.

Training skills SUCK... but nothing beats training while logged out XD

True... I have the next 40 or so days of training set out... most of them Learning skills...

Might have to throw in a couple ship training skills to bump up to cruiser.

The shuttles look so fricking cool btw

And my Corp is soon to be a war with someone... (don't feel like posting it here), it's a one man corp, and we aren't really sure why he dec. war on us. We might have to go to war with another corp too...

Noooo..

Don't skill for destroyers... It's rather unfortunate, but they are pretty worthless. They only come on value when you fit them with the Best T2 gear + skills, and even then their only use is anti-frigate work in fleet combat...

They have the speed and sig radius of a cruiser, and the hitpoints+tank of a frigate... BAD combination.

Nice choice
Eve is indeed a bit harder to start of then WoW, first to admit it, but the freedom you have in the game is insane, and can't be compared to any other game in the world.
Train for a Battleship to run some missions as soon as you can, to make a living.
And not to forget, a nice statistic: Eve has the world record for the most players online, on 1 server: 35000 players.
My ingame char is flashfreaking
