You'd notice a nice difference in sound quality in movies and music due to the x-fi crystallizer.....it makes music sound much more crisp and also you can run games in higher audio definition...

In gaming, I think you will be very pleasantly surprised with the X-Fi. Many games now have special sound detail levels for X-Fi's, because thats just how good the EAX HD effects are.

When just watching your movies, there won't be as large of a difference between the Audigy and X-Fi. I'm not sure on exactly how the Crystallizer works or exactly how it effects the sound, but generally most people are pleased with it. Perhaps somebody else could provide a more technical explanation.
