Hi sparkison,

Many thanks. I was starting to suspect something similar. Core Temp thinks my Tjunction is 85C. Hopefully someone can tell me what the actual tjunction is for an e6420.

+15C on top of the readings I'm getting would put my idle temps in the mid-to-upper 30s and load temps in the mid-to-upper 50s under Orthos. Those temps I could believe.

No problem mate
I would just add an extra 15c to your temps for now until someone can confirm/give more info, just to be on the safe side. And as you said, only 1-2c over ambient on Air is unheard of, I get more than that on water

you coretemp reading is right if the tjunction is at 85C, if it was at 100c then it would be 15+ to the actual temp.
