Just to be sure, check the PS rails. The 3.3, 5, 12v voltages should not vary more than 5%.
Also, are your temps under control?

That PS haz 16a on the 12v rail and may not be up to the task too!

O.K. I got an e-mail from you requesting the settings in my bios to O.C. your system. Here it is in great detail:

Enter BIOS

Go to ADVANCED CHIPSET FEATURES:
disable both options(C1E and Cool & quiet)

Go back to main bios screen.

Go to OVERCLOCK NAVIGATOR ENGINE:

Cange first option to manual.

Change CPU vid to 1.4v

Change memory voltage to 2.0v

Change chipset voltage to 1.65v

Change Hyper Transport voltage to 1.3v

Change CPU frequency to 305

Leave NPT FID control on AUTO

Change K8<->NB HT speed to x3

Change memory timing mode to MAXMEMCLK

Change mem clock value to 400

Change PCIE spread spectrum to disable

PCIE clock stays at 100

Now, under the same screen go to DRAM CONFIG:

Change Trfc0, Trfc1, Trfc2, and Trfc3 to 105ns

Now under this same screen you will see MEMORY TIMING. Go there now.

Change from top to bottom 5-5-5-15-2

Only change the top 5 options.

Save everything and test. Your chip may need more\\less voltage. My other 3600 won't do 2.9 without almost 1.5v so, luck of the draw. What is the stepping on the chip. I can tell you about what that chip can do. Good luck!

After re-reading your first post, I think duke may be right about the power supply not cutting it. Not sure, but I have O.C.'d some systems to the wall on some really cheap low watt and even fluctuating rails and pulled off good O.C.'s so....

If you go through and do all the steps in this guide you will learn alot. I learned a lot from it. And you will know your bios and system components much better. If you follow this guide you will get a better O.C. out of your machine.

I have that PS from a retired folding PC, I stand corrected, it's 18a on the 12v rail but that is still a bit light on the load you have.
What are "rails"... that PS has 1 12v rail some have multiple, it like most also have 1 rail each @ 3.3v and 5v. A rail is a segmented power line output from the PS.

Especially if he's running a 7600GT too.
