Alright, as mundane a detail as this is...I beg to correct you

Windows XP cannot recognize SATA drives during installation. In order to install the OS onto a SATA disk, one must "Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver" (with a floppy containing the mobo's SATA drivers). Either that or re-create an XP CD with your drivers "embedded" which is totally possible and has been done. I donno what kind of mobo you have, maybe it has and pata emulator mode or something but XP can't and won't recognize SATA Hdd's on a new install. One must load the drivers from an outside source! Hmmph!!

This is to those of you who were wondering how the tf7050 overclocks....well quite frankly, I'm disappointed. I don't know why, but I could never get much past 230mhz htt bus, even with max northbridge voltage (which is btw not dangerous). I did the overclocking with htt set to 4x and the ddr800 ram running at 667. The reason this was so disappointing is because according to this review:

"I would say, the TF7050 is quite an impressive clocker of its class! Without much tweaking, I managed to hit a HTT of 272 FSB without much sweat. I'm sure that 300FSB will not be much of a problem with a little bit of tweaking. The TF7050 is definitely much overclockable than its TA690G counterpart."

Hmm I just realized something really stupid.....my bro told me to enable "stop at any errors" i believe it was in the bios. And every time the overclock much over 230mhz it wouldn't load windows and told me there was an error....I wonder if this was that stupid bios setting sounding a false alarm.

My only other culprit could be the ram....is it possible the ram wouldn't run at its specified timings (4-4-4-15 1t) below 800mhz? I memtest'd it at 800 and it was perfectly happy, but maybe it doesn't like those timings at 667?
