Samsung 206BW -Wont show BIOS

Thread Starter
Whenever I turn my computer on or restart my monitor fails to show the BIOS screen. In fact, it only displays once the windows logon box appears.

This is not good as for some reason my idle temps are 65C and load temps are 75C. I cannot go into BIOS since my monitor wont show it :-s

What happens is, the monitor displays "analog" then "digital" as it is performing its "auto source" function. I turned off "auto source" and set it to manual. However, the screen just remains blank through BIOS until windows has loaded...I'm using DVI connection, the same happens when I use VGA w/ dongle.

Any ideas how to fix this? The monitor is about 7 days old.

Your BIOS maybe set to check for PCI video before PCIe (or PCIex).
Once again...

But, with my old monitor I didn't have this problem. My temps are 65C idle and can't change as I can't view anything before Windows Logon =s

Try checking the first video source in the BIOS with a different monitor. I assume you've got an old monitor you can use?

If the BIOS still doesn't appear, it's probably not the monitor. In that case I'd recommend clearing the CMOS.

i had this problem, it's because when your monitor is in digital mode it wants to use HDCP but HDCP isn't availible untill windows boots, the only way i have been able to figure it out is to use a VGA cable while booting and a DVI in windows.

thank you. I'll try this out now.

Edit: Yes, must use analogue it seems.

Yes it was in #1. I just needed to change to analogue connection.

Someone said that it wants to use HDCP (DVI) but cannot as HDCP is unavailable before Windows loads...
