Ok... this is final... Its really hot in here now, I got the 360 running with 5 of my friends in a cramped area playing halo 2, so ambient is unbearable... but tell me what you guys think for my first overclock

( I really should start a new thread, this is pretty much off topic...

AHHH, was about to post, but something really weird just happened... can't open mspaint and save, got the wierd screenshot copied...temps randomly drop really weird... standby!!

Got it... Guys, check this out, yet another mest up twist in the mysteries of the e4400...

What I want you to notice here is the Nvidia CPU monitoring software. Notice the graph. See where it drops? Thats what the average temp was for about 2 hrs, 50-51-52-53-54-55c.

55c is what you see before the drop, then suddenly, (when I randomly got on to check up on orthos) it drops to 46-47-48c. This is shown in the pic. I couldnt save in ms paint forever, I tried it like 8-9 times.

Then the temps got back up to 54-55-56 full load on orthos and I was able to properly use mspaint.

Any guesses as to what caused this wierd temp change? It lasted for about 10 minutes and orthos kept running all through it.

what do you guys think of this oc? I know it is a bit hot, but I will be using C1E and other heat safety precautions enabled in BIOS. THis is the absolute lowest vcore I could run. One notch lower and it craps out after 7hrs of orthos.

So what do you guys think about it?

Also, what should I do to overclock my RAM?

Here it is now...

ooohh, 56-57c, thats a bit toasty... NOOOOO I don't want to back down from 3.0!!!!

Is there ANYthing else I can do to lower temps? (besides get a/c)

Uh, get a new cooler/fan? It's about the only thing I can suggest if everything else you've tried isn't working.

lol. It was all ambient. 5 guys and a 360 makes things pretty hot. I used my 133t case and opened it up, and put my room fan right next to it, jropped my temps to 50-51-52c.

When I got back from a soccer game, and everyone was gone, the temps were at a kick*** 48-49-50c. Put case back on and I'm at 52-53-54...

Here, check it out...

Hope those are safe temps

Hey, u guys think I've run orthos long enough, I'm ready to move on to RAM if I have... or I can let it run overnight again...sigh...

BTW, anyone want to help me oc my ram, post up or pm me, I know mucho about CPU (not really) but nothing about RAM...
