You know you're going to attract the cheerleading squad like flies on a big pile of :turd:.

I'm glad the competition awoke the beast and now "they" can't tamed the beast.

45nm.........X38..........32nm......

On the other side of the ring we have: Delays and 1GB video cards that can't beat nVidia's finest.

Anyone notice that AMD has been playing tag with Intel. Expect AMD is always "it."

AMD is never going to beat Intel to a die shrinkage (45nm, 32nm), they are never going to beat that to a multicore achievement (quad core, 8 core, 16 core), and will likely not beat them in the near future in performance.

What they need to come up with is something different, something revolutionary. Stop playing tag with Intel. Make Intel catch you.

Come out with something like Sony's cell processor, I don't know. But they can't beat Intel at Intel's game. They need to make their own game. But they won't... It is a shame.
AMD invented multi-core-architecture by the way.

Clarification can be a point? The point was, AMD has been innovative and ground breaking in the past - don't count them out now.

What was it, mid 2005 when the broke through with their dual cores? We're only now closing 2007? DOOMED I TELLS YA! DOOMED!

There is no point we can bicker and argue until the stars fall from the skies and from that heap of ashes will rise the almighty fanboy.

BTW : Go AMD woot woot, Intel sucks they got PWND

But that was a long time agoo, they rock now.

? Intel never had a monopoly on the processor market. Even one competitor (Take Cyrix, for example) would mean that they have a competitor, eliminating their monopoly.

This is why AMD cannot go out of business, because then Intel would have a monopoly over the processor market and they would be forced to pay hefty fines :\\ But I digress.

I completely agree with Paul. AMD has always had worth High-end Processors and slower clocks. They were mainly processors for budget builders or people who use their computers for checking emails. Intel has now dominated all of the market with: Celeron-L, Core 2 Duo's, and Core 2 Extreme Quads. $400 Dell's use Celerons and Pentium 4's, while ~$1,000-$2,000 PCs use Core 2 Duos, and while Alienwares, XPS's, and $4,00+ PCs use Core 2 Extremes. So, what market is AMD in? None you say? Correct. Oh, and 45nm Mobile Wolfdales will avaliable with 20% less heat and a 30% longer battery life due to the smaller die and more effecient processing.
