AMD looks to the stars! - Page 4

Guess fanboyism will have to hold AMD up for awhile, till they come out with something 'revolutionary' or whatever it is you people are saying. I'm a giant fanboy myself, so, I'll be there helping them.
'bout time.

What can they possibily do? Create a 1nm die? I think they lose. At life.

It appears that it is precisely what intel is trying to do...

Anyone notice that AMD has been playing tag with Intel. Expect AMD is always "it."

AMD is never going to beat Intel to a die shrinkage (45nm, 32nm), they are never going to beat that to a multicore achievement (quad core, 8 core, 16 core), and will likely not beat them in the near future in performance.

What they need to come up with is something different, something revolutionary. Stop playing tag with Intel. Make Intel catch you.

Come out with something like Sony's cell processor, I don't know. But they can't beat Intel at Intel's game. They need to make their own game. But they won't... It is a shame.
IBM made the cell processor that is used in the Sony PS3.

And you are 100% correct; but AMD won't do that. They will keep doing what intel just did... idk why... i miss the A64 days when i could say "nothing beats a pentium clockspeed/everything beats performance"

Too bad you can't think rationally, maybe you would have spit out something halfway coherent instead of this utter drivel...

and BTW, the alternating caps doesnt make you look cool

They could, like Paul pointed out, create a cell-like CPU. Or, merge with IBM. IBM+AMD=win; anyway the point is that there are many things AMD can do to get competitive again; heck they still are, for a BUDGET RIG. thats right ninja, not everyone is a computer geek like us (or me at least) and spends tons of $$ on their comp. they want "cheap, and works". AMD can give that.

So, what market is AMD in? None you say? Correct. Oh, and 45nm Mobile Wolfdales will avaliable with 20% less heat and a 30% longer battery life due to the smaller die and more effecient processing.

UHH Have you checked Alienware's website lately? How bout Dell's? Dell's featured Inspiron notebooks have/ You guessed it AMD processors. Alienware's Uber High End SLI Notebooks contain guess what AMD processors. Of course most people on OCN would not know this as we buld our own PC's.

BTW Celeron-L has not even been released yet, so there's no market domination there. Better check your facts NINJA.

Will since AMD has never outsold Intel, why is it suddenly the end of AMD if they don't outsell Intel?

Seems to me like nothing has really changed. Some years they will have the Title, some years they will have to relinquish it. Why is everyone getting so worked up over this?
