Packaging

The packaging on the Razer M100 is pretty standard and nothing special. Some of the main features printed on the front and detailed specifications on the back.

Aside from the earphones, Razer also conveniently included a carrying bag, three different sized interchangeable ear adapters, and a plane adapter. The three different sets of adapters are very useful since they allow people to choose the one that fits their ears best. The plane adapter can be great for people that do a lot of traveling. And of course, the carrying bag can be used to store the unused earplugs, the plane adapter, and the earphones themselves.

Design

The design of the Razer M100 is very clean, simple, and stylish with a Razer logo on the back of each earphone. They are fairly small compared to others like the stock iPod earphones or the Sennheiser MX series. Due to their small size, they don’t look or seem as durable as some of the other earphones but once you get a feel of the high quality plastic on the ear pieces and the tough rubber wiring, you’ll know that these earphones won’t be breaking any time soon.

They are also available in both black and white colors.

Performance

To test the performance of these earphones, I listened to some music on a Creative Zen Vision:M with the medium sized buds (the same ones on the earphones when packaged). Right when I plugged them into my ears, I couldn’t hear anything around me at all.. These earphones cancel more noise than other full-sized noise canceling headphones! The M100 with their Pro|Bass technology really makes the bass sound rich and deep. The sound stayed consistent even at high volume so there were almost no distortion.

However, there wasn’t much definition in the bass even though it is pretty loud. Plus, the treble and the highs weren’t as clear or accurate as I thought they would be. They were also a bit drowned out by the overpowering bass.

Comfort

The M100 weighs only 9 grams and after wearing them for a few minutes, I forgot I even had them on. They fit perfectly in my ear and are very comfortable. Once fit in place, they do not move around and they will stay in your ears unlike some others.

Packaging (including bundled accessories): 9/10
Design: 9.5/10
Performance: 8.5/10
Comfort: 10/10
Value (value per $): 8/10

Final rating:

9/10

Conclusion:

The Razer Pro|Tones M100 is a great set of earphones for under $40. The bass is nice, the trebles needs a bit of an improvement but overall very nice sound. Extremely light weight and very portable. Razer always goes the extra step for convenience with the travel bag, extra ear adapters and the plane adapter. These earphones have an amazing ability to silence out the surrounding environment noise for a clearer audio experience. For the price, it will be hard to find something that performs as well as this product.

If you have any questions or comments about this product or my review feel free to post! Thanks for reading

Nice review! Did you happen to try the other sized buds? What was the difference if you did?

I have these same exact ones, i even have the same color. I have to say i agree with about everything you said about 99%.

My only complain is that i wish the first part of the wire was solid plastic kinda like the stock ipod earphones. And i wish the cord was rounded instead of two cords stuck together. Only minor complaints.

Your totally right about the sound canceling.
I was sitting in biology listening to these while the whole class was talking about crap, and i just started laughing, because i couldn't hear a thing! It was a first! I was so used to having to crank up the volume to uncomfortable levels just to hear my music, but no more of that.

And these seem louder than other earphones, especially stock earphones. If you were using stock ipod earphones and had the volume at max, that would be about the equivalent of 60% volume with these babies.

The diff earbuds are just so it fits any sized ear hole. No difference.
I give em a 9/10 also. Great price also, can be had on eBay for like $22 if your patient.

Thanks everyone!

Ya I did, The small and the medium one both fitted perfectly. The big one was too big tho, only the top would fit inside my ear and it would slip out occasionally

They're louder than most other earphones because these cancel out the background noise so all you hear is your clean music .

I found these at around $30 on buy.com. Woot.com also sells these once in a while, both black and white colors for $20 or $30. Great deal and very worth it IMO .
