I don't fault them for wanting the cash but if a product isn't ready they have no right to take peoples hard earned money. For example would you pay a contractor the full amount if they had completed 75% of the job and said I'll come back at some point and finish the rest, I for one certainly wouldn't as we all know once they've got your money its just a hassle to finish the job which they get nothing from.

Its gonna get the AO rating and then we'll have to wait a whole year for them to revise and censor the game because... AMERICA IS TO CENSOR-HAPPY! There I said it...

Oh. I have good cause to hate EA's great game deadlines. I would rather wait longer to get a bug free version that has a patch out less then a week (BF2142's first patch) and also killing games that would have been awesome (C&C Renegade 2 and ALOT of others)

EA sucks, period. I bet you guy's like playing a game and liking it (Command and Conquer) and then buying the sequel (Command And Conquer: Tibirain Sun) and getting something different that changed everything you knew about the last game then throwing something completely different (C&C Generals)

Now don't get me wrong some of the games they release are fun, but damned if their not buggy. I had BF2 actually format my SATA hard drive, randomly.

So if you can provide why they don't suck ass, tell me.

Oh and don't forget about the EA Sports and the NFL agreement to enter into an exclusive licensing agreement, shutting out competitors like the ESPN 2K series and making the Madden series the only licensed NFL game left standing. And it sucked.

I'll agree that BF 2 / 2142 are quite buggy. And CnC 3's gameplay never interested me, ever (the story was nice though).

But that doesn't necessarily mean Crysis will be too. EA as a publisher will probably offer rewards for finishing a game early. Dice probably did complete the game quick enough to get this bonus. But I believe Crytek have the brains enough to go at their own pace and release it when they're done.

And regarding non-buggy EA products:
Sims 2
Burnout Revenge (haven't played the others so I wouldn't know)
Fifa series (although I prefered PES anyday.)

And it's not only EA. Lots of big game companies provide crappy support for PC games in general nowadays. Take Ubisoft for example......R6 Vegas, GRAW, Splinter Cell....

It's just that EA is the biggest in the business so most of the hatred is directed towards them.

And btw, Far Cry(Ubisoft) is not without its share of bugs, x number of years later.
