You're right. EA is basically just marketing and boxing it. Crytek is actually developing it.

I've never had an issue with an EA game, to be quite honest. Not a single problem personally, except on the 1.41 or 1.42 BF2 patch you had to download a FULL cumulative patch, and there was no upgrade from the previous patch. So the file size was about 70mb bigger than it would have been otherwise. Which took forever on the internet I was using.

It'll be like the original Farcry...Beautiful to look at and a demonstration of what our Geforce 8800/Core 2 Duo combos can do but not all that fun to play.

I thought Far Cry's gameplay was great. Just the last few missions weren't as great as the first few.

Yes, Crytek (makers of Far Cry) are making this game.

EA is just the publisher

People need to understand the difference between the developers and publishers.

The publishers are the people that advertise it and box it up etc. Pretty much like agents are to sportsmen and actors.

Developers are the people that would the effort in.

But that doesn't necessarily mean Crysis will be too. EA as a publisher will probably offer rewards for finishing a game early. Dice probably did complete the game quick enough to get this bonus. But I believe Crytek have the brains enough to go at their own pace and release it when they're done.

And regarding non-buggy EA products:
Sims 2
Burnout Revenge (haven't played the others so I wouldn't know)
Fifa series (although I prefered PES anyday.)

And it's not only EA. Lots of big game companies provide crappy support for PC games in general nowadays. Take Ubisoft for example......R6 Vegas, GRAW, Splinter Cell....

It's just that EA is the biggest in the business so most of the hatred is directed towards them.

And btw, Far Cry(Ubisoft) is not without its share of bugs, x number of years later.
My biggest issue with them is their Disk's. Every one of the games I buy from EA works ONCE and then is unusable, my BF2:SF disk two has a CRC error and they said it was mistreated... how many times do you use disk two?! Ffs, so that was a game I only had for a month. Bought The First Decade, right out of the box CRC errors, thank god I could actually tell it to ignore them. GRAW is buggy, yes, but at least they address the issue with a patch listed of a patch to fix the patch to remove the patch that the third patch tied to counter react the last patch your installing.

I've not really had that many issues with EA before. Im a BF2142 addict, probably my most often played game, an of course with so many hours logged I'd run across some errors, nothing thus far thats deterred me from just quitting the game. I'd rather enjoy it and pwn some people then get mad.

Crysis is looken damn good, I can't wait till it comes out.. looks like its gunna have a sweet single-player mode, wonder how Multi-player will work if it has one. Minor video card upgrade is probably in store first though..
