on board or a card - Page 2

NOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooo
stop right there.

Tell him to get THIS stuff instead.

Mobo: P5N-e SLI 150$ save 50$
Case: regular wit 450W psu 40$ save 100$
cpu: E6350 195$ save 110$

with the 260$ savings + 75$ budget= 335$
get an 8800GTS video card on ebay, you can bid on a few once in a while for around 250$ US shipped (comes to 275$ CAD) EXAMPLE HERE(Make sure they have doa warranties, and ship to canada.)

+ TUNIQ TOWER 120 for cpu cooling at 54$ too

Or you can buy one retail at Directcanada.com HERE for 333$ shipped

He will thank me. Gaming wise, it takes A LOT more gpu than cpu power. ask anyone on this form, they will take E6350+8800GTS over E6600+7600GT(80$) any day.
and you can Overclock the E6350 to near E6600 speeds anyway (around 3.1Ghz minimum with good cooling)

my suggestion or his original intended pc?

either way. the option is there. and if he doesnt want to lay down 300$ on a gpu, with the 360$ savings he can buy an 7600gt and a 22" monitor to game in MAJESTY.

it's ok, I was more concentrating on the CASE, not the psu. you can just stash the generic psu somehwere.

Trusted psu names:

corsair
silverstone
FSP
OCZ
bfg
Hiper
Xclio
thermaltake
Tagan
Enermax

IN THAT ORDER. there is a power supply guide by davidhammoc in the psu section. I would suggest you buy them new on ebay. the OCZ and BFG are always very cheap. i got a bfg 650W for 70$ shipped.
