p5k vanilla bios updating

Hey, i don't have a floppy drive to update my bios, does Asus provide a tool to update through windows?

Nope. I don't use Floppy Drives anymore. Isn't there another method of updating the bios?

You maybe able to boot off a USB drive. It's a little bit involved but doable.

Download new BIOS to C:\\

Make a new folder called BIOS UPDATE: UnZip the new Bios to that directory.

Tap ALT + F2 at startup (keep doing it) til you get to the EZBios screen.

press TAB to select which drive, then navigate to the unpacked Bios.

That should work for the P5k

can i burn the bios file to a cd-rw and boot from that?

uh..why not just use Afudos in windows..? I worked fine for me..currently running the 505 BIOS on both of the P5K's.

I have another Asus mobo and I updated BIOS via Windows with a software called ASUSUpdate. I installed it from the CD that came with the mobo. I'm not sure if that exist for your mobo. You can try looking for it.

Ok, i just have to wait till the e6750 cpu comes out before i can do any of this.
