Which Creative X-Fi?

Thread Starter
I am about to buy a soundcard and am confused. Which is the best soundcard to buy out of all the creative x-fi line and doesnt differ from the topmost one? I heard the packages are mostly the same card with different add ons. Which one's the best price-to-performance wise and doesnt differ significantly in performance from the topmost one?

X-fi pro vs x-fi xtreme gamer are almost one in the same. all the other x-fi's only come with a thousand different I/O ports. unless you are gonna need a front panel I/O port to import instruments or a SPDIF connection for HDTV's, just get the regular x-fi pro.

i have the x-fi with the front I/O port, the remote is next to useless unless
you use the lame music management software bundled with it.
stick with just the card, save yourself 50$.
and if you can wait, get the asus Xonar card. way better card
but i cant seem to find the link. here is a link comparing the x-fi extreme gamer vs. pro

the razr card is teh suck, just ignore it.

The XtremeMusic is the best for the money. Has all the main features of X-Fi but without all the extra bells an whistles of the more expensive units.

Even though I have the 64MB XRAM version I really don't see much if any improvement in games that take advantage of it.

when it comes down to it, the pro vs. extreme is sampe rates. the pro (fps fatal1ty) has 192 kps and the extreme has 96, so id spend the extra cash if you have a better system (5.1) to pump it out on
