Guide me through RAM OC??

Thread Starter
Hey, I'm just looking to see if someone could guide me through RAM overclocking... Ive read a couple of guides, put seeing that RAM is the easiest to fry, I'd like to have a seasoned OCer to help me with this part!

Refer to my specs below, but here is my specific RAM...

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ

Thanks alot!

OK first you have to be happy with your processor OC, both RAM and processor use the same FSB so if your happy with your processor speed then follow these instructions

1:since this is your first time and G.skill doesn't release complete timing specs we'll stick to the first four, they have the biggest effect anyway
2: boot into bios, set your RAM to stock settings and voltage, says it on the sticker on your RAM(my HZs are 4-4-4-12 @2.1v)
3: boot into windows and run memtest to test all your memory
4: go back into bios lower your fourth timing by a couple (4-4-4-10)
5: boot back into windows and run memtest again
6: if it fails then you up the voltage supplied to the RAM and try again.
7: on intel you should probably never go tighter in timings then 3-3-3-5
8: the more voltage you give it the hotter it will run, be careful to makesure they don't over heat.
