I have an XFX 7900 GS - AGP. I'm wondering the same thing, too. I would also like to cool mine a little better. Is it possible to just mount an extra 80mm or 92mm fan on the stock heatsink by unscrewing the top plastic plate of the heatsink? When I get a chance, I might try it..

I figured out what he used. but the temps are still kinda high.
but atleast it's 20% quieter?

Does anyone know what that black metal bag does on the card?
It seems to get in that way with the heat sink. It doesn't give a perfect contact with the GPU. but it works?

Does anyone know if i could remove that metal bar?

thanks in advance.

It's for looks. Your heatsink needs perfect contact in order to transfer heat from your gpu. So, if the rail/bar interferes just remove it.

dmhnc: Since you have the same series XFX 7900 AGP card as I do, would you suggest me for right now mounting an extra fan on the stock heatsink fins while removing the plastic plate for some extra cooling?

And I'm very, VERY curious! Have you solved any of your cooling problems with your XFX 7950?? Have you found out any aftermarket heatsinks that fit?? Thank YOU.

No, sadly I haven't tried it yet. Sorry, I'm starting another semester of college so I don't know when I will have time... but, I will eventually. First I have to learn how to use Riva Turner or NVIDIA nTune. I'm very new to OCing. I actually don't know which one to choose. I'm sure they do the same thing, right?!

What do you mean your card burnt out the 2nd time? (newb) Does that mean your card overheated twice?
