The Max Media Dock by Datel is decent. I owned the first version (the one that came with the PassMe and the Slot 2 flash cart). The only things that they are good for are for storing music, videos, and homebrew. Somebody wrote a patcher called Max Reloader that doesn't work well.

Datel is pretty much the only company that makes homebrew devices that are sold at stores. I have some links to a few good places if you really want a good cart, but it's all online.

M3 or R4, essentially the same card, I believe the M3 was the original and the R4 is just a chinese duplicate of some sort... which SHOULD make it cheaper, but its not... meh.

Excellent flash cart for homebrew, and wt.. big box retailers? You're joking me right? ahahahahah, I just wanna make fun of you but I won't.

Heres why:
- Flash carts in themselves NOT illegal, homebrew, still not that illegal, but unauthorized anyways, BACKUP capability, hmmm piracy? illegal. Big box retailers will never carry ANYTHING that has the possibility of allowing illegal backup usage. To provide an analogy, Best Buy won't ever carry mod chips for consoles, same principle applies for DS flash carts.

Haven't seen anything of the sort around here man...

Maybe its slightly different in the USA..., but Datel isn't an ideal solution for the casual or hardcore homebrewer on the DS, so therefore its not worth mentioning...? Just an opinion.

R4 and M3 are the exact same card, made in the exact same factory. They just use different OS's.

He made it clear that he wanted to get something cheap from a store, not online

The MMD is able to play backups, just not many.

Read up before you post, mmmkay?

^ big giant quote...

- mmm, so the carts are the exact same, minor fact inaccuracy, I can live with that...
- "He made it clear he wanted to get something cheap from a store and not online"... wow?
- Whats the point of going homebrew/custom if you're not going to buy something that is specifically for...?
- Okay, fine you got me, they can play a few backups, but again, whats the point of blowing $35+ on a shoddy product?
- Alternative solution to e-tail for finding R4 or M3 is going to some asian mall and find a game shop, I'm pretty sure you'll find everything you need there.
- Oh wait, he wanted an EASY, CHEAP, solution to homebrew... in my mind, Datel isn't an adequate solution... at all. Homebrew community would agree on this point.
