onboard audio 965P-S3

Thread Starter
i have a Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic and want the headphone and speaker sockets on my case to play whats on that, not configured with my onboard audio. how do i do this? i emailed Gigabyte sometime ago and they said to do it in bios, not very helpful. i have all the connectors from my case in the corresponding slots on my motherboard as there is no place to plug them in to my soundcard. i'm presuming it can be done because it worked on my old dell

Xmusic doesnt have any headers if thats what you mean. you could buy some extension cables and tape them to the front of your case...

you sure that wasnt just the onboard sound you forgot to turn off in the bios?

yeah because each program can only be setup to use one sound processor, its an either/or, so if i listen to creative media source it will only use one processor, when i plug into the case connectors on this build i get nothing, unless i go to the options menu on each program and tell it to use the realtek sound
