amd64 in itself is going to be slower then going without amd64 because you're turning even the least significant process and math operations into long mode usage. amd64 is only faster when there's intense memory access >4GB.

And that's AMD's implementation of their own extentions. Intel has actually depreciated EM64T in favor of pure 32bit performance in desktop CPUs because of Itanium, which is one of the reasons why AMD has taken such a huge lead in the 1-4CPU space.

I suggest you all do some research before suggesting the slower solution.

Vista X64 is my new niche
Theres a difference between good drivers and bad drivers.... I bet 40% of those drivers are still beta for vista, and another 40% are just plain buggy.

ROFL..thats because every frickin useless crap device out there has a sticker on it saying "Vista Certified" or something to that affect. That way, when non-OC'rs go to buy, they are like, "I need a mouse...better get a Windows Vista mouse." Then later, "I need a monitor..better get a Windows Vista monitor." <-Idiots

Later that week, they brag to their friends telling them they got this fancy new monitor..for Windows Vista.

So, as Murlocke stated..at least 40% of those 96% are bogus...and the another 40% are garbage..so Vista covers 10% :d

96% - 40% - 40% = 16%.
