My crack at an Intel build - $1500

Alrighty. I was previously going AMD, but I also want to see what I can do with Intel. Here's what I have:

Monitor: BenQ 20" Widescreen (Updated July 5)
Case: XClio Windtunnel
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 Rev 3.3 (Updated July 6)
Processor: Intel C2D E6420 Conroe (Updated July 6)
Video: eVGA 8800GTS 640mb or GeCube HD2900XT 512mb or Sapphire HD2900XT 1Gb
Sound: Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer (Updated July 6)
Power Supply: Corsair 520HX (Updated July 5)
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 2x1GB
CPU Cooler: Tuniq Tower 120
Case Fans: 2x Silverstone FN121
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar 160GB
Optical: some cheap Sony NEC Optiarc
https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion...ntel+gaming+pc

With shipping and MIRs factored in, it breaks my budget buy a couple tens. It doesn't worry me too much.

Any suggestions on how I can change stuff to fit a sound card in? I can live without one for now. If dropping to the E4300 is a good idea to fit the sound card in, I wouldn't mind. I could also drop the monitor to a Ben-Q 20". What do you all think?

***PAY no attention to the rig in my sig***

i would drop the monitor down a notch, skip the NB cooler, get a bigger HD and a cheap sound card, it really is worth it. great looking build

Thanks. Anyone else with advice? I'd like to keep the HD. I'm not worried about space.

I would go with the 22" Samsung Syncmaster 226BW for a monitor. Or even the 20". It has the same amount of pixels as the 22", thereby making it look even better than the 22".

That was going to be the AMD rig that I wanted to build. Like I said, though, I'm taking a gander at Intel before I decide for sure.
